The LaLone Well Drilling Story
Every company has a story, ours is just slightly longer than the average. Our story begins in 1898 in Rosebush, Michigan, when our family's ancestor, John LaLone Jr., built a drilling rig from scratch. John was in the lumber industry and wanted a safe drinking water supply for his community, just like what we wish for you today. So, he began working on the side drilling water wells for residents before moving to Detroit.
John's grandson, and our current owner's father, Roy LaLone, started his own side business drilling water in 1917 at the young age of 20. Mike LaLone, our current owner, who runs the company with his four sons, bought his first rig in 1968. The family continues to this day as entrepreneurs and innovators in the well water industry. Our long history as a family committed to well drilling excellence has helped deliver our sterling reputation.
